PÉTANQUE GROUP STARTS AGAIN ON 2ND APRIL.

It is a very easy game to play and very sociable, although we do get quite competitive sometimes when it’s not so easy to see whose boule is nearest to the jack. At that point, out comes the tape measure or someone does it with very strange poses between the boules!
Our group always has good fun and enjoy all the games we play on a Tuesday. Cost is around £1.80 per session paid in a lump sum to cover 16 weeks.
It is a very good way to pass a couple of hours in good company, so please do let me know if you would like to join us. We can provide Boules for you so come and have a go.

POETRY GROUP'S Carol Townend reports:
In March we looked at the work of modern poet Lemn Sissay. We were impressed that despite a problematic and challenging childhood and adolescence, he has channelled his creative energy into writing poetry and novels successfully such that he now has a significant national profile.
Some members were also able to watch Michael Wood’s fascinating film about the ancient Chinese poet Du Fu.
