Stephen Bowyer led the group on a visit to Fotheringhay and Oundle.
Stephen gave a detailed presentation on Fotheringhay Castle and surrounds as well as the church.
We then went on to Oundle where we viewed some 20 buildings and the church before adjourning for lunch at Beans restaurant.
Fotheringhay is famous as the powerbase of the House of York and as the place of execution of Mary Queen of Scots. Only the mound now remains of the once formidable castle.
