Plants & Cuttings
Just a note about the plant sale at the Cream Tea event on Saturday 1st August.
If anyone has any plants or cuttings they would be happy to donate for the day,
they can be dropped off at
Bridgette Taylor's gate, 4 High Street, Kibworth Beauchamp, (opposite the Swan pub),
at anytime, and she will take care of them.
Thank You!
Creative Writing Group
This group began in Feb 2026, so we’re pretty new to this! We meet on the first Thursday afternoon of the month. We’re curious to see where our individual writing might take us, in response to other writing or stimuli (sculpture, or the churchyard, for example.)
We’re discovering an amazing range of inventiveness between us, and we have a lot of fun sharing, discussing and encouraging each other.
Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate more members at the moment.
How about starting another group yourself?

Warning!!!
Poetry
Due to illness, holidays and one or two other issues, the Poetry group was unable to meet in May. We are therefore doubly looking forward to the June meeting in which we will be examining the work of the American/Vietnamese poet Ocean Vuong. He is, I believe, largely unknown to most of us so it will be a journey of discovery.
We remain full but I am available to help anyone who might be interested in setting up a new group.

Holiday Sketches from Su
Led by Mike and Shena Senior, eleven members wandered at a leisurely pace around nearby Hallaton equipped with our copy of the free heritage trail guide. (Downloaded from Harborough District Heritage Trails website at https://visitharborough.com/uploads/hallaton-trail.pdf?v=1724335173). I think we all discovered something new even if we 'knew' Hallaton well. After the walk we dined at The Fox Inn which sadly wasn't a great experience.
The Landscape and Architecture group will, this month,Thursday 18 June, be taken on a
voyage of Arthur Wakerley's plans in North Evington by David Holmes.
If any reader would like to join in please email stephenpoyzer@gmail.com asap.
FYI Arthur Wakerley, (1862 -1931), was Melton Mowbray born architect, businessman and politician and designer of The Turkey Cafe in Granby Street and some parts of North Evington. He was a lay preacher and ardent temperance worker. A fascinating voyage of discovery awaits.
